Billy Bob Thornton Reveals Road Trip Film Inspired by Marriage to Angelina Jolie

Who wants to travel cross country with Billy Bob Thornton? One lucky actress will get to play the part of his passenger in a new road trip film called And Then We Drove. Thornton talked about the project recently at the Berlin Film Festival and some are saying it's inspired by his unusual romance with Angelina Jolie.

"This is predominately me and one other actor that are the main characters and there are a couple of other characters that are in maybe a third of the movie. Everybody else is going to be kind of in and out," Thornton explained. "It's sort of a trip across the United States. We're working on that, we won't be done with it for a while but we plan to shoot it this summer."

Thornton and Jolie wed in 2000 which was his fifth and final marriage. The couple was often criticized for showing their love in weird ways, like wearing vials of each other's blood as necklaces. While they divorced in 2003, Thornton has been in a relationship with a makeup effects artist ever since. He claims he won't get married again since it doesn't appear to work for him.

Billy Bob will be busy this year as he'll also begin filming Bad Santa 2 which should be ready for Christmas 2013.

"The writer is still working on the script, he's doing his rewrite right now. We saw the first draft and we just had a few little things we wanted to take away or add and he's doing that. The plan is to shoot that in the fall," Thornton said.
