Former Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie has pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol. Gillispie entered the plea Monday in Anderson County, between Louisville and Lexington, and received the maximum penalty for a first-time offense. Gillispie was fined a little more than $1,000, his license was suspended for 30 days and he was ordered to complete an Alcohol Drivers Education Program. A prosecutor says she has offered former Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie a plea bargain in a drunken driving case. Anderson County Attorney Bobbi Jo Lewis discussed the plea bargain in court Wednesday during a pretrial conference with Gillispie's attorney, William Patrick. Gillispie didn't attend. UK basketball coach Billy Gillispie was arrested at 2:45 a.m. this morning in Anderson County on U.S. 127 and charged with DUI. The NBC affiliate has video of Gillispie being led handcuffed into a van. He and 42-year-old Charles O’Connor are being held in the Franklin County jail, according to the station.
