Miley Cyrus opens up to Billboard Magazine

In case you’ve been in a box or out of the world for the last two years Miley Cyrus is the talk among teens. You may know her better as Hannah Montana the Disney Channel star. I know all about her due to the fact that my own girls (Isabella 9 & Grace 7) force me to watch her show every night. Her Dad is none other than Billy Ray Cyrus you know the guy that brought us Achy Breaky Heart and put the mullet back in style.

Billboard Magazine caught up with this teen sensation to talk with her about her new project, “Breakout.” due in stores July 22nd. In fact, there’s a good chance your kids (like mine) are already singing her first single “7 Thing” that’s playing all over mainstream radio right now.

Miley goes on to say…

It’s grown-up, I wrote all the songs except two. My last one, ‘Meet Miley Cyrus,’ was more just meeting me, finding out who I am, and here it’s more getting in depth of what’s been going on in my life in the past year.

In a past interview with USA Today, Miley said faith is a big part of her life. She went on to mention that the book she was reading at the time was “Girl Talk With God”, a book about a teen girl’s conversations with God. Faith is the center of everything she is doing. She said…

That’s kind of why I’m like here in Hollywood — to be like a light, a testimony to say God can take someone from Nashville and make me this, but it’s His will that made this happen.

In a February interview with Christianity Today, her Dad said…

Being Christian, we believe in heaven and we also had a great church, and when you give up your church, your pastor, and the community you are involved in, you’re making a big sacrifice. Let’s face it, Hollywood is a completely different environment than Franklin, Tennessee.

You and I need to keep Miley and her whole family in our prayers asking God to keep them safe and protected.
