Where Are They Now?!? Billy Zane Edition
He was the dashing leading man with all the right moves who tried to woo Kate Winslet’s character, Rose in “Titanic.” We all know she chose the so sexy, Leonardo DiCaprio but that dashing leading man, Billy Zane has not been forgotten, at least in the eyes of Three Ice Cubes. We started pondering what his ultimate fate was, aside from starring in one of the biggest James Cameron blockbusters of all time. He started out in “Back to the Future” which led him to “The Phantom” and aboard the deadly ship. Then, he seemingly went down with the ship; it’s almost the end of 2011 and we have no clue where Billy Zane is…or do we?!?
Zane got married in 1989 to an actress named Lisa;.they called it quits six years later. He was also engaged for a time to a Chilean actress, Leonor Varela, his costar in the 1999 Made-For-TV film, “Cleopatra.” Zane was also engaged to marry British model turned actress, Kelly Brook, whom he met while co-starring in “Survival Island,” also known as “Three.” Sadly, the duo split in April 2008, reunited again shortly thereafter then officially ended the relationship in August 2008. He has been dating Croatian model Jasmina Hdagha since March, 2010, with whom he has a daughter, Eva with. Unfortunately, his own ship went under on March 23, 2010, when the IRS filed a $116,578 lien against Zane with the L.A. County Recorder of Deeds. He has not commented on his sad tax situation, i.e. it is none of our damn business. In November 2010, he was awarded an honorary degree honoris causa from Lium University Bellinzona, Switzerland, for his contribution to cinematography. He is the chairman of the Francesco Fucilla Film production company 21st Century Filmworks. He has dabbled on the stage and was on the now defunct yet popular sitcom, “Samantha Who?” with Christina Applegate. So there you have it; the mystery of Billy Zane has now been solved. Bald or with hair, he is still one of the finest and we do mean FINEST actors ever. We miss you, Billy. Come back to us before you turn fifty in 2014!
