Amgen to buy Micromet for $1.16 billion

Micromet Inc. has agreed to be acquired by biotech giant Amgen in a worth more than $1.1 billion.

Thousand Oaks-based Amgen said in a statement Thursday that directors of both companies had unanimously agreed to a transaction that would pay stockholders of Rockville, Md.-based Micromet $11 per share in cash for all outstanding shares.
