First human case of bird flu since 2005

Health officials in Vietnam on Friday confirmed that a farmer has been infected with the deadly bird flu virus, the first human case in the country since late 2005. "Two recent tests for the 30-year-old man from Vinh Phuc province showed that he was positive to the H5N1 virus," said a doctor from the National Institute of Epidemiology in Hanoi who refused to be named.Read Full Story

Indonesian woman dies from bird flu, Indo counts 55 deaths

The World Health Organization reported another death in Indonesia from bird flu, bringing the nation's bird flu death toll to 55.  A 27-year old woman died from the virus in Central Java province on Friday, just 5 days after she first noticed symptoms.  We do not yet know how she caught the disease or how she was exposed.
