Seth Cravens, the La Jolla man convicted in the alcohol-fueled beating death of a professional surfer, was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison today.Cravens, 23, was found guilty Nov. 18 of second-degree murder and other charges in the death of Emery Kauanui, 24. A San Diego man has been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for killing professional surfer Emery Kauanui (KOW'-ah-noo-ee). Defendant Seth Cravens made a brief statement during sentencing Monday, apologizing to the victim's family and his own family. Cravens was convicted of second-degree murder for killing Kauanui with a single punch to the head during a scuffle on May 24, 2007. Henri Hendricks, a backup quarterback for UNH, is accused of murder and assault in a fatal attack on Emery Kauanui Jr. on May 24th.  he pleaded not guilty in court in San Diego.  His bail was set.
