There are only a few activities in life more satisfying than nurturing the emergence of a new life into this universe. If you're fortunate the birdhouse or nesting box you put up last year has given birth to a downy small beak face peeking out from the entrance, a small beak and 2 tiny eyes looking out into the sky for the 1st time.
