U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer won't likely face opposition in the 2010 election, but that hasn't stopped fundraising for Luetkemeyer's political committee.
According to records filed with the Federal Election Commission, Luetkemeyer raised $576,600 so far for the 2010 election cycle but is also carrying $3.1 million in debt.
For the 2008 elections, Luetkemeyer raised approximately $2.7 million, which included funds for a 5-way primary and a general election contest that Luetkemeyer won by less than three percentage points.
About half of Luetkemeyer's contributions for the current cycle came from Political Action Committees, including the NRA, Conservative Victory Fund, and a variety of medical, finance, and insurance companies. An additional $250,000 in contributions came from individuals and businesses.
At the end of the reporting period Luetkemeyer had $338,591 cash on hand.
