Free Blog Header Images

If you want to change the header on your Blogger blog but you don't know how to use Photoshop or some similar program to create a custom header, you can just download a free header graphic online and then upload it to Blogger under the Layout tab.

Remember, when you are adding a header to your Blogger blog using the header gadget, the header text and description will still show in the header area. Depending on the template you used it will be on the left, centered, or on the right.

You can hide the header and description text but then no one will know the name of your blog. You will want to make sure to pick a header that will let the text show through. You can change the header and description color by going into the Fonts and Colors section under the Layout tab to make it darker or lighter depending on how you need it to look for your free blog header.

Note: You can also upload an image from your computer that you might already have as a header. A header is basically just a background image so try using a photograph or some other graphic and let Blogger resize it to fit. You can change the header many times until you find what looks the best so give it a try.

I picked these blog header image samples because I think they are appropriate for a business blog.

How to Upload a Header in Blogger:

1. Click on the Layout tab.
2. Click on Page Elements.
   
3. Click Edit next to the Header gadget.
4. Click next to Behind Title and Description and in the box next to Shrink to Fit.
   
5. Click the Browse button to find the file you saved.
6. Click on the file and click Open. Wait while the file is uploaded.
7. Click Save.
8. Then Preview the look on your blog by clicking the Preview button. If you don't like it then pick another and do the process until you find one that looks right.

Remember to test what your header looks like when after you upload it to make sure the text is positioned properly. You can only change the position of the header and description text by going into the HTML. If you are uncomfortable with tweaking HTML or don't know how then pick another header image or ask someone for help.
