There are some transfusion procedures which can change the recipients DNA however Bone marrow transfusions for example often require that the recipients own blood and bone marrow be destroyed in order to reduce the chance of infection again from same disease. Once the donated marrow begins producing red blood cells again the white blood cells would most likely contain the DNA of the donor not the recipient. To receive a straight blood transfusion does not change a DNA but could mess with the results for a few days.Then the recipients own blood cells will take over and over whelm those of the donor.
Only one systemic process such as bone marrow transfusion could actually change the DNA profile of a recipient.Red cells (the primary component in a transfusion) do not contain a nucleus and therefore do not contain any DNA. Red cells only live 120 days as well; so they do not last long. White cells do contain nuclei & DNA but very few are in a standard unit of packed RBC transfusion & your white cells would probably take them out anyway,
