Vegas dancer killed, covered in concrete
Las Vegas police allege a burlesque dancer's former boyfriend choked her, chopped off her legs and covered her body with concrete. The dismembered body of Debora Flores Narvaez, 31, was found on Saturday in two plastic tubs filled with concrete in a downtown Las Vegas home, police said. She had been reported missing on December 14. Advertisement: Story continues below A coroner's report said Ms Flores Narvaez was strangled, and her death had been ruled a homicide, Clark County Assistant Coroner John Fudenberg said on Tuesday. Police allege the dancer's former boyfriend Jason Griffith choked her, chopped off her legs then covered her with concrete. Griffith, 32, was arrested on Saturday as he was leaving his job at the Cirque du Soleil show, Love, at the Mirage hotel and casino in Las Vegas. He was charged on Tuesday in a criminal complaint with murder, battery domestic violence, and destroying evidence. Griffith did not speak as he appeared briefly on Tuesday by video link-up in North Las Vegas Justice Court, where he was ordered to be held without bail. He was due in court again on Wednesday for a probable cause hearing. Griffith allegedly told police he killed Ms Flores Narvaez during an argument in "a heat of the moment thing", according to an arrest report. Ms Flores Narvaez told her roommate she was going to watch Dexter, a television show about a serial killer, with Griffith on December 12. Police allege Griffith killed her that night in his home. Police records showed Ms Flores Narvaez and Griffith had been dating for about a year when police responded to a domestic violence call involving the couple on October 22. Ms Flores Narvaez danced in the burlesque show Fantasy at the Luxor hotel and casino. Griffith was also a dancer and had performed in the Love show since April 2008. Ms Flores Narvaez's family was planning a memorial service for Thursday night in Las Vegas. The coroner's report said the family wanted her name published as Flores Narvaez, but the dancer spelled her name Deborah Flores-Narvaez on several personal websites verified by her only sister.
