Ramping up for Bluesfest 2009
Every year at this time, and it approaches like a freight train, everyone in Windsor Ontario that is associated with Bluesfest International knows that an incredible amount of work lays just ahead.
Coordinating an event like this takes an incredible amount of effort.
My Brother and Sister in Law have lived in Windsor Ontario for almost twenty years where they have raised their family and made significant inclusions to the color of this City. As co-producers of this event, little ruffles them when gearing up for the next seasons onslaught of work. After 15 years, The Bluesfest has brought headliners in that sometimes make other venues pale in comparison.
Personally, I enjoyed last year after moving to Windsor and participating in the event as an "in-house" Photographer with the benefits of full access - what a treat I will look forward to in 2009. For over 14 years, we have worked to make a lasting impression, delivering Grammy, Juno and Rock N' Roll Hall of Famers to our stage. We are devoted to high quality production. Music is not about what something sounds like; it is about what people think when they hear it.
Those with Jazz tastes can find some influences in many blues acts. Rock fans can identify with the Texas-style blues. Delta/Dobro guitarists and singers are reminiscent of folk or early country artists. Cajun/Creole/Zydeco music mixes African, French and Acadian cultures.
