BRITISH-AMERICAN BLUES

As a citizen of both the United Kingdom and the United States, I find that I am doubly unhappy nowadays. Both the UK and the USA are fighting an unjust war against the people of Iraq, a war to which I am opposed with my entire being, and both countries have so-called leaders whose policies are an offense to humanity. Now that Saddam Hussein has been sentenced to be hanged, several questions arise: when will George W. Bush and Tony Blair be put on trial? Is it not a matter of right and fairness that they be held accountable for their crimes? Are the citizens who have supported them, the citizens who have enabled their foul deeds, any less guilty than Bush and Blair?

People may choose to avoid these questions now, but they will not go away. History will not wait forever.
