NEW BEDFORD — A power boat operator from Gloucester pleaded guilty today to negligent operation of a vessel in a 2008 boat crash that killed a Dartmouth sailor.
Fred Bevins, 61, of Honeysuckle Road and the owner of The Car Shop on Maplewood Avenue, entered his plea today to New Bedford District Judge Thomas Kirkman and was given a one-year suspended sentence and 10 years probation.
