Barr to return to the GOP after LP stint?

HOT RUMOR!!

From Eric Dondero:

Various sources are reporting that former Republican Congressman Bob Barr and 2008 Libertarian Party Presidential candidate Bob Barr, may return to the GOP and make a run for Congress in north Georgia. He is eyeing the newly redistricted 14th District, which contains some parts of Barr's former 7th District. If so, he'd face a primary with incumbent Republican Rep. Tom Graves.

Barr was a staunch conservative during his 4 terms in congress, even leading the Clinton impeachments in the House during the Monica Lewinsky scandal. During his final couple years, he moved more in a libertarian direction on a number of civil liberties issues such as marijuana.

In 2008, Barr polled 525,000 for President; the second highest Libertarian Presidential total in LP history, nearly 100,000 more than Ron Paul in 1988.
