Our friends at Daily Kos are crowing about Scott McClellan's endorsement of Barack Obama on CNN this evening (10.23.2008). McClellan, fondly dubbed a "Miserable Creature" by the beloved and irreverent Senator Bob Dole, is among a growing list of nitwits.. err.. "Republican Defectors" KOS is compiling. - Scott Miller Well at least Bob Dole wants to engage the newest Araiana Huffington (aka Scott McClellan). This from Fox News: Bob Dole Calls Scott McClellan a ‘Miserable Creature’ The former Senate majority leader and 1996 Republican presidential candidate sent a nasty e-mail to McClellan calling him a “miserable creature” for his latest book blasting the Bush administration, FOX News has learned. Some in the chattering class seem to have fallen in love with the "John McCain is another Bob Dole" comparison. In reality, the similarities begin and end with their age and distinguished service to the country.  The differences, however, are vast and profound.   Dole was a policy wonk and the ultimate party insider.  He was legendary for his ability to work the levers of Congress and turn legislation into law.  Bob Dole was the establishment; his opinion tracked with conventional wisdom on virtually every issue.   He understand the minutiae of policy, but struggled with the "vision thing." "I figured it up the other day," Bob Dole memorably snarled during the 1976 vice presidential debate. "If we added up the killed and wounded in Democrat wars in this century, it would be about 1.6 million Americans -- enough to fill the city of Detroit." It wasn't Dole's finest moment as an orator, but it should be a cautionary tale for a Democratic president seeking bipartisan support for a "surge" in Afghanistan. President...
