After completing their worst season since the 1985-86 campaign, the Sonics decided it's time to shift gears and fired head coach Bob Hill. Seattle was just 31-51 in what might be their second to last year in the Pacific Northwest. Hill wanted a chance to return, but ownership decided otherwise. Now the Sonics have to find a coach who knows it's a job in Seattle for maybe one year as franchise relocation rumors continue to exist.

Sonics, Inc.®, announced that its on-chip communications solutions will support phase one of the new AMBA® 4 protocol unveiled this week by ARM. Bob Blackburn, the Seattle SuperSonics' first broadcaster and for 20 years the lone voice of Sonics history, died Friday after a lengthy illness, his wife Pat told the Associated Press. He was 85.
