Oakland Athletics shortstop
Bobby Crosby hurt his hand after being hit by a pitch in a game against the
Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday.
Crosby was batting in the eighth when Angels reliever
Scot Shields nailed him on the back of the right hand. He went down immediately, but walked to first base, insistent on staying in the game.
However, he made his way to the clubhouse after just one pitch due to extreme swelling. X-rays revealed a deep bone bruise, and the club expects to know more this afternoon.
The forecast is not sunny.
