I’ve unfortunately gotten to the point where I’m just too lazy to get out of my condo and jog now. I can jog a few miles easy, the exercise doesn’t bother me but its somehow gotten to be a pain in ass to drag myself out of my nice comfortable apartment. Unfortunately, I’ve gained about 15 pounds since I broke up with my girlfriend (if there are any women under 40 who look like Lynda Carter in her prime and don’t have kids or implants, I’m available) and I need to lose them. I should mention I also work out at home on my Bowflex Machine. So I went to my local Sporting Good Store and luckily got a knowledgeable person. We both decided that my best option, considering I just want to do some cardiovascular exercise a few times a week at a comfortable pace was to get an upright exercise bike. At first I was thinking about a treadmill but for an apartment that might be too noisy for the person living below as well as taking up too much space and boring as well. Elliptical trainer machines were also an option but the good ones were too expensive for my budget. So I decided to settle for the Schwinn 126 Upright Exercise Bike which I chose based on the fact it seemed the most comfortable, looked good, didn’t take up much space (39 x 23 x 12.5″), was quiet, had an attached water bottle holder, a rack to read if I wanted too, both mechanical and automated settings, and I got a fully assembled Floor Model in perfect condition for only $300. I also bought a 3X4 foot exercise mat to put the bike over to minimize any possible noise my downstairs neighbor could hear- so far no complaints and an extended 2 year warranty as I look at extended warranties as insurance and I’d rather buy a warranty and not use it then have no warranty and have to deal with all sorts of crap and delays, later.
Anyway, I paid someone $40 to haul the Schwinn 126 Exercise Bike to my home and it was incredibly easy to put into the corner of my bedroom as it has wheels and I could watch HD TV while using the Schwinn 126 for my cardio workout. I’m totally lazy and I’ve just been using the Schwinn 126 at its basic mechanical workout setting with just average resistance. I peddle anywhere from 20 minutes to 40 minutes at a comfortable rate with no variable resistance watching my HD TV with my remote on the rack, fast forwarding my recorded HD DVR shows when a commercial is on. Is this the life or is this not the life? I’ve begun to lose weight, I feel a lot healthier and best of all I don’t have to leave my apartment and can use my Schwinn 126 Upright Exercise Bike any time I want, at my own comfortable pace and watch HDTV at the same time.
