A very common theme among guys/men attempting to get into shape is the idea of wanting to gain some muscle along the way. Some want to get “ripped” and others are merely interested in putting on some lean muscle mass. And if these are the kinds of goals you seek in terms of fitness then you will be comforted in knowing that yes, any guy can gain lean muscle mass (or, “GET JACKED, BRO”, if that’s what you’re going for).

Just Do It…And Then You Gain Muscle

Nike’s famous slogan works for just about any goal in life. Addidas also has a slogan that’s on the motivational side of things too. Hell yeah they’re trying to sell you their shoes but they’ve got a point.

Think about it like this. You’re sitting here trying to find out the truth as to whether or not you’ll be able to gain lean muscle mass/get ripped if you were to put in the effort. See that bolded part, that’s what separates fat guys wishing they toned from the guys who are ripped.

I haven’t laid out any sort of logical plan as to how you can gain muscle as an ordinary dude (I’ll get to this in a bit), but what I have done is brought something that’s been rattling deep down in that head of yours right to the surface. You know you can gain muscle mass but what are you gonna do about it?

get ripped with hard work

Without a proper mindset and perseverance nothing in this world would get accomplished. You can lie to yourself and tell you “it’s different with lifting” but it’s just not the case.

Protein And Lifting Weights

I will now reveal to you why any dude out there can gain muscle mass with hard work and persistence. However, if you would like to know how you can get ripped in just 2 days all you have to do is buy my book as the very reasonable price of $799. That was a joke.

On the serious side of things, here is how logic proves that you can gain lean muscle mass:

  • By lifting weights you work out your muscles (yes, obvious)
  • Lifting weights causes your muscles to break down in a sense
  • Eating enough protein will not only repair but also make your muscles stronger
  • Repeat the cycle and over time you will see gains

This is pure science. If you do not believe me then head on over to WebMD’s article on protein which provides insight as to how and why protein is to vital to our being. It is the building block of not only our muscles but also our bones, blood, skin, and cartilage. As it is a macronutrient it is also much more than this.

The point here is that protein is very important. If you are lifting then you need a lot of protein in your diet. But this is hardly a problem given that there are many cheap and high quality protein powder supplements available online. However, getting enough protein in your system is essential because it is the only way you will see real gains.

You don’t exactly need to do the “1 gram of protein for every pound of body weight” regime per say, but the more the merrier. This is what literally gives you bigger and better muscles. PROTEIN, PROTEIN, PROTEIN.

How To Lift Weights?

There are stupid questions in this world and this is one of them. What you need to think about when it comes to the stupid question of how to lift weights is how you are going to lift weights. I’ve proven to you with logic that any guy out there can gain muscle mass but it’s you, the bro, that’s going to have to due the work, dude.

If you came across this article then you are most likely the type to get hung up on specifics. Don’t get hung up on specifics. If you are really that worried about the most precise and excellent way of getting your pump on then pay up and get a personal trainer.

On the flip side, if you’re ready to finally put some effort into building muscle and you understand that the basics work then the following plan will work just fine (keep in mind we are keeping things general with the intention of getting you started with lifting).

  1. Invest in a gym membership, home gym, or weight set
  2. Workout every other day
  3. Rotate muscle groups (back, biceps) (chest, triceps) (shoulders, legs)
  4. Eat a protein shake before and after each workout via a protein powder supplement
  5. Eat plenty of protein, eat a lot in general, and attempt to keep foods “clean” (healthy)
  6. Start small with the amount of weight and gradually work your way up
  7. Keep consistency with lifts – for example 5 sets of 5 reps
  8. Repeat the cycle and gradually progress your entire workout regime

Yeah, this ain’t the most detailed bodybuilding routine out there but then again this isn’t the point of this article. The point of this article is to prove to you that you can gain lean muscle mass with…regular ol’ lifting.

It’s just a matter of you doing something about it. You really have nothing to lose and it’s proven that exercise makes you feel better. Stop thinking, start doing.
