Visit the Cerro de Monseratte which is the Monseratte Hill. There is a beautiful church that is situated on top of the this 3200 hill which provides best views of the entire land of Bogota. This panoramic view coupled with the excellent cable car rides on top make the trip here very exciting and adventurous. The funicular railway and the ride up these rails is something to be experienced to be believed. Pilgrims come to see the statue of Christ here inside the church and like to walk up to the top.
Then go to the La Candelaria which is an old town here with beautiful lanes and cobblestone streets. There are colonial churches, sharp edged hills, homes that have been restored, restaurants, hotels, universities and innumerable attractions which provide the ideal travel luxury for all. The Bogota Cathedral and the Plaza de Bolivar are all major tourist pleasures here. Then you have the government buildings and the walking tour which adds to the excitement. Museums are a major part of tourism in Bogotá. So the El Museo de Oro and the El Museo de Botero along with the Museo Nacional and the Fundacion Museo de los Ninos are all popular here. The El Museo de Oro or the Gold Museum is a place where the history of Columbia is stored in the form of the gold artifacts of the people here. Then the Museo Nacional is another interesting place with its collections of old objects and artifacts. This is the oldest museum in the country and was constructed in the year 1823, and houses a lot of the previous historical era. The works of painters such as Guillermo WEidermann, Enrique Grau, Botero and Alejandro Obregon are all stored here.
Visit the Fundacion Museo de los Ninos and enjoy the beautiful exhibits of science, culture, technology and other children arts.
