Jodi Breakers had been earlier titled as Shaadi Fast Forward, but later due to some reasons it was changed. The film has been shot at different places in Greece, Mumbai and Goa. There was a controversy about the movie earlier with the Indian distributors of the Belgian movie ‘Heartbreakers’ which was released in the year of 2001. They had supposedly claimed that the story of the movie ‘Jodi Breakers’ had been copied from Heartbreakers. The filmmakers of Jodi Breakers then offered the team of Heartbreakers to let them read the complete script of the movie, under the condition that they would agree to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA), but apparently somehow the team of Heartbreakers were not willing to sign.
Sid (R Madhvan): Sid has a kind of wittiness inside him that one can literally be impressed right away. Not only this, he has a genius brain that can also challenge the brain of Chacha Chaudhary. However apart from this, he has a very spontaneous nature which at times allows him to go for a dip right in the course of any sort of problems.
Sonali (Bipasha Basu): Sonali has a similar kind of intelligent brain, just like Sid has. Not only this, she has the similar kind of mysterious humour inside her, but in a more glittering package. Sonali believes in fairy stories and happy endings, and thus she is the honest ‘Better Half’ in this couple. Apart from this, she can definitely offer any sportsperson a run for his riches on the treadmill as well and can lash out a number of serious butts inside the boxing ring.
Nano (Omi Vaidya): He can be described in just one simple word ‘Chota bomb… Bada Explosion’. Some may discover him as a quite funny personality, but a few may even find him as Vulgar. Nano can make you laugh and cry with the same Joke, but will not skip any chances to illustrate some love or more precisely lust, to any lady who wants it. One may neglect him, and one may even overpower him, but one can never ‘Overshadow’ him under any circumstances.
Madonna (Helen): Her simple motto that inspires others is, ‘Live life Madonna Style’. She has a life-size dosage of love inside her, and much bigger dosage of serious lecture to those people who wipe her dear ones in the immoral way. She is actually schooling dance to the senior citizens, but most importantly, next to with that she fills up life in their life.
Marc: Marc stands out as urbane and stylish. He is the striking prince of the Business world, who is not just wealthy in his real life but has a style to impress one and all. He loves his grandma (Madonna) a lot, but wants to control his personal anger.
Maggie: She is elegant, a natural warm heart human being, and very much trustworthy and innocent. However she can strike politely when doubted. One for the long haul – one just cannot go back to her type of love.
‘Jodi Breakers’ is a bubbly and happy modern age urban humour. The central idea around which the fairy-tale revolves is dysfunctional relationships, which at the end lead to break-ups.
R Madhavan and Bipasha Basu enact the characters who are into an official business to break the Jodis or rather a Couple relationship. Whether it would be the relationship of husband and wife, boyfriend and girlfriend, brother and sister, daughter-in-law and mother-in-law, or between any kind of relationships, Maddy as Sid and Bipasha as Sonali are quite efficient and professional in this business. However later on, as expected, Sid and Sonali fall in love and in the course of breaking the Jodi’s, their Jodi starts to blossom. The film has quite a few romantic dramas, which are diluted in a witty and entertaining manner.
‘Jodi Breakers’ is all set to release in theatres on February 24, 2012. Check out Jodi Breakers trailer here and also keep posted for the Jodi Breakers review in the coming days.
