PJ Lukac, who is living with a brain tumor and pursuing laboratory research to study brain tumors at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, was interviewed by Bonnie Hunt during her show on October 15. Excerpts of the Northwestern Brain Tumor Institute video, featuring PJ and his parents, was shown during the interview. Role of Astrocytes in Brain Tumor Metastasis
Isaiah Fidler, DVM, PhD, the Distinguished Chair in Cell Biology and Head of the Metastasis Research Laboratory in the Department of Cancer Biology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, recently visited the University of Cincinnati (UC). He serves as an external advisor on the Scientific Advisory Board of the UC Brain Tumor Molecular Therapeutics Program, which is a part of the UC Brain Tumor Center and a close affiliate of the Mayfield Clinic. We spoke with Dr. Fidler at UC’s Vontz Center about the role of astrocytes in brain tumor metastasis and his decision to advise the Molecular Therapeutics Program.
