Up in
Bean Town a strange alliance has developed between
feminists and the
Catholic League. But, no it is not true that the
abortionists have agreed to let a
priest into the mills to perform last rites—it's all about
panties,
lingerie and
short shorts.

Indeed, just like
feminists hooked up with the
jihad on the
sexualization and
objectification of bikini-clad Pakistani women, they find themselves joining that exemplary model of sexual morality, the
Catholic Church, in a mutual panty knot over
Boston's College's
agreement with
Victoria's Secret to produce official
Eagle wear— not just hoodies and such—but the unmentionables too.

It's even worse than the time a
Boston College law student did a couple of poses for a dopey Bostonian magazine called
Barstool Sports:
The collaboration with
Victoria's Secret
“is disgraceful and appalling,”
said
Boston College graduate
C.J. Doyle, who runs the
Catholic Action League of Massachusetts.
“This is just one more example of the university’s callous contempt for Catholic sensibilities and its complete indifference to what remains of its Catholic identity.”
Over at the
women's studies center, they
are equally concerned
“There is no way that we want that (BC) logo to be interpreted as ‘We OK the sexualization of women,’ ” said
Sharlene Hesse-Biber, director of the
Women’s Studies Center at
Boston College, about the products.
Sharlene is a cool woman—you can tell that because her surname is hyphenated and her first name is spelled with an
“S.” And, she
has done some seriously good work—but, when you are on the same side of an issue as the homophobic warriors of the
Catholic Action League, a girl should think long and hard. Not to mention, before any
Catholic feminist starts worrying about a
lingerie company, there are plenty of things right there at home in the
Catholic Church, that are screaming for comment.

This is just one of those ways that
colleges make money. Several
colleges have licensed
Victoria's Secret to manufacture University-specific skimpy wear, as well as sweats, jerseys, etc. They call it the
Pink Collection.

However,
Boston College did not,
as did some of the sluttier institutions of higher learning, agree to letting the
lingerie giant manufacture such things as stylish knickers with the collegiate name stamped on the butt.
At least that is what
BC spokesman,
Jack Dunn
said.

However he was not sure about the official
Eagle
short shorts, that were selling next to the hot pink
BC tank tops in a display on
Newbury Street.
