Herzlich came back on the field today and stopped, took off his helmet, and looked up into the stands at the roaring audience. He led the team out of the locker room, and the fans were certainly excited to see him back in action.
He announced about 16 months ago that he had a rare form of cancer, Ewing's sarcoma, and sat out the 2009 season to undergo chemo and radiation treatment. He's now cancer-free.
The game was an exciting one, with Boston College scoring 2 touchdowns in each of the first quarters. The Weber Wildcats just couldn't keep up.
