A community portal about Boxing with blogs, videos, and photos. According to Wikipedia.org: Boxing, also called pugilism, prizefighting or the sweet science, is a sport and martial art in which two participants of similar weight fight each other with their fists in a series of one to three-minute intervals called "rounds". In both Olympic and professional divisions, the combatants avoid their opponent's punches while trying to land punches of their own. Points are awarded for clean, solid blows to the legal area on the front of the opponent's body above the waistline, with hits to the head and torso being especially valuable. The fighter with the most points after the scheduled number of rounds is declared the winner. Victory may also be achieved if the opponent is knocked down and unable to get up before the referee counts to ten or if the opponent is deemed too injured to continue. For record-keeping purposes, a TKO is usually counted as a knockout when calculating the total knockouts.
Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions has effectively told Bob Arum and Top Rank to take a hike. The disagreement over random blood testing of the fighters is apparently more of an obstacle than it really should be.
“It does not make sense for this to be a commission matter, “Schaefer told Yahoo Sports. He continued, “This is a contractual matter. The commission did not decide the weights or the purse split or how the foreign television rights would be sold.”
So my question is this... Read Full Story

Manny Pacquiao is ready to fight Floyd Mayweather after all, but the venue looks to be a court room rather than a boxing ring thanks to Pacquiao's Christmas gift to Mayweater - a lawsuit.
