3 high school friends, Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson and Rob Bourdon started playing together, naming their band Xero. After leaving school, they recruited Mark Wakefield as a vocalist, and put together a number of demo tracks in Mike"s bedroom. But despite knocking on lots of doors, they found it hard to find anyone interested in their material.Wakefield left to pursue other projects, and Chester Bennington replaced him.
