When discussing the ineptitude of the Jaguars’ offense in 2011, the conversation typically begins with young triggerman Blaine Gabbert’s ultraslow development and then shifts to the lack of receiving talent with which he had to work. Jacksonville began addressing both areas in the offseason, signing WR Laurent Robinson to give Gabbert a big-play receiver and adding QB Chad Henne to push the starter and provide an insurance policy.

The success of Jaguars new head coach Mike Mularkey’s tenure in Jacksonville ultimately will be decided by wins and losses — or at least the development (or lack thereof) of second-year signalcaller Blaine Gabbert. But that hasn’t stopped our spies in North Florida from raving about the environment Mularkey is creating in comparison to his predecessor, Jack Del Rio, who was fired after Week 11 last season.  

Update: Jones-Drew skipped the first day of the Jags' voluntary workouts on Tuesday reportedly due to a contract dispute, according to Yahoo.com.
