In yet another tough blow for the Patriots secondary, the team placed veteran safety Brandon McGowan on season-ending injured reserve with a chest injury.
McGowan, a six-year veteran, was not projected to start, but would have been used in a variety of substitution packages as well as special teams for the Patriots this season. McGowan’s injury likely led the team to trade for Kansas City safety Jarrad Page, who will occupy not only his roster spot, but McGowan’s role as well in 2010.
