Bank of America Branch Manager Brandy Tate in Hot Water After Removing Flags

Brandy Tate is a Bank of America branch manager in Gaffney, South Carolina. She has infuriated local city council and incurred the wrath of conservative talk show hosts after removing a cluster of American flags honoring fallen Marine Lance Cpl. Chris Fowlkes, to avoid offending people.

The removal of a flag display outside a Bank of America has put branch manager Brandy Tate in hot water.
Her attempts to avoid offending customers has, ironically, led to some customrs pulling their account from the Bank of America branch. The Cherokee County Council voted to pull their county accounts, worth around $500,000.

Meanwhile, Bank of America is scrambling to play damage control, putting out the following statement: “We want to ensure the community knows how deeply proud we are of the men and women who have sacrificed so much in service to our country. The bank does fly the American Flag at our locations throughout the country and flags were displayed in front of our banking center in Gaffney the evening prior to our dedicated Marine returning home.”
