UK Poster For ‘The Guard’ – Starring Brendan Gleeson, Don Cheadle & Mark Strong
Empire have liberated this new UK poster for John Michael McDonagh’s upcoming comedy crime flick ‘The Guard.’ John Michael McDonagh is the brother Martin McDonough, writer/director of ‘In Bruges,’ which also starred Brendan Gleeson to hilarious effect. The story centers on a cop (Gleeson) in Ireland who ends up assisting an FBI agent (Don Cheadle) in his hunt for drug traffickers. I’ve heard nothing but great things about this film, it’s said to be full of banter and hilarious moments, mixed with some brilliant good cop, bad cop chemistry between Gleeson and Cheadle. ’The Guard’ hits UK cinemas August 19th.
THE GUARD is a comedic, fish out of water tale of murder, blackmail, drug trafficking and rural police corruption, and the two cops who must join forces to take on an international drug-smuggling gang, an unorthodox Irish policeman and a straitlaced FBI agent.
