I am a big Star Trek fan. I used to watch the original as a child my my family but as an adult really got into The Next Generation, second time round! Brent Spiner, pictured here, played Lieutenant Commander Data for those who don't know. He was an android, void of emotion, who strived to become more human. The role gave way for a weekly analysis by Data of the human being, in an attempt to understand humanity, and I found this to be very thought provoking. At the same time the character... Remember I posted that blog last week called “Ask Brent Spiner” where SFX was collecting a bunch of questions from readers to put to Star Trek’s Data? Well, I don’t think this is the one; however, SFX does have an interview with Brent Spiner where he talks about his new album. My favourite part of the interview was him talking about LeVar Burton’s bachelor party where he... Read Full Story

In the episode, the Griffin family visit a local Star Trek convention where the cast of Next Generation hold a Q&A panel. Unfortunately, little Stewie doesn't get the chance to ask any of his questions, which obviously infuriates him. He then... Read Full Story
Brent Spiner plays Data on Star Trek: The Next Generation. He's my favorite character on the show because he's an android, and there's a lot of subtle humor involved in his not having emotions, yet wants to fit in with humans. To that effect, he has a cat named Spot. I get excited whenever I see that he is going to be in something else other than Star trek..
I read he does not plan to play Data again. So it's sad that Star Trek XI will be Data-free. Read Full Story
