Loretta Lynn and Bret Michaels to Record Duet - 2012-02-13
Country icon Loretta Lynn and Poison frontman Bret Michaels have announced they will be recording a duet for Michaels’ upcoming solo album ‘Get Your Rock On.’ After spending Thanksgiving together and doing a bit of brainstorming, the pair has decided to re-record ‘Every Rose Has its Thorns’ as a duet.
Michaels recently told Rolling Stone how this duet came to be.
“One of the ideas she had was redoing 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn' and I thought it would be unbelievable for me and her to do that together," he says. "We were out at her ranch in Hurricane Mills and we sat there, me and her, and after everyone, the whole family and my crew sort of dissipated, we sat there and started writing some songs together."
‘Rose’ was a No. 1 hit for Poison in 1988 and will be featured as a bonus track on the new album.
‘Get Your Rock On’ is also reported to feature Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen and Jimmy Buffet.
