I have to admit, I'm not certain a new Conan movie is the answer to a question on a lot of people's minds. Are you dying to see it? If we're swinging old swords from the early 80s, I'd rather we had a remake of Excalibur , if for no other reason than to wash the taste of King Arthur out of our mouth.
But Conan will be happening, and at least we know now that Brett Ratner won't be directing it. So who will? According to CHUD , V for Vendetta director James McTeigue might be the man for the... Read Full Story

Click to enlarge Fuck me this is going back and forth like a motherfucker, ignore my last post, apparently this kids Beverly Hills Cop 4 rumour is all bullshit, it is going to be R rated. Empire Online has posted an article where Brett Ratner states: "Dont believe everything you read on the internet (Apart from where you read that Wanted is fucking shit) . Believe me, this is going to be a hard... Read Full Story
BRETT RATNER is best known to sci-fi and superhero fans for his like-it-or-loathe-it work on X-Men: The Last Stand and his attachment to comic book adaptation Youngblood, about a team of government sponsored celebrity superheroes, for which he wants Twilight's Robert Pattinson in a starring role.
He was also attached to the Conan remake and had to drop out in May , with Marcus Nispel taking his place .
Speaking about his departure from Conan, Ratner told MTV : "I really wanted to do... Read Full Story
Brett Ratner took over for Bryan Singer for the third X-Men movie, a film most fans of the series put at the bottom of the list. But The Rat now says that he's responsible for the burgeoning future of the frachise and that people who said he ruined the X-Men movies are hypocrites.
Digital Spy quotes a Starpulse interview with Ratner, who seems really angry. "You can't make these people happy. I'm kind of the anti-Christ to these comic book geeks," Ratner says, oblivious to the fact that... Read Full Story
If he were around during the 1920s,
Brett Ratner
would probably have been rolling through your impoverished agrarian town selling
snake oil. In the 21st century, he's a big time movie director and his own best
(and worst) publicist. While Ratner's films have made a considerable amount of
money - in fact, he's one of the more profitable directors of the past decade -
his real talent is for selling Brett Ratner.
He's at his best with enormous, stupid action movies
like Rush Hour... Read Full Story
This is one way to keep your name in the news: never actually confirm your projects!
Peter from /Film asked me if I had noticed the bit about Brett Ratner in the press release for RoboCop (see 'Darren Aronofsky To Direct ‘RoboCop’). Even though I had read the press release, somehow my eyes skipped right over the part that mentions that Ratner is attached to direct God of War .
Back in May, we reported that Ratner said he might be working on an adaptation of the popular video game. But since... Read Full Story

After many rumors about his involvement, it looks like Brett Ratner is in final negotiations to direct the new cinematic version of your favorite barbarian, Conan , for studio tag team Nu-Image, Millennium Films, and Lionsgate.
If this project confirms Ratner, it will be added to his inexplicably heavy schedule along with Beverly Hills Cop 4 , the God of War adaptation, his Hugh Hefner biopic, and God knows how many more Rush Hour movies.
The Conan script is currently being touched up by... Read Full Story
It saddens me to have to tell you this, but apparently,
Brett Ratner
might be in the director's chair on the new
Conan remake. I'm not entirely certain this is
a remake we have to have - I think you could invent a similar property and be
just as successful - but I am entirely certain that Brett Ratner fits this movie
like mayonnaise on chocolate cake.
When The Rat said he wanted to make
a
Guitar Hero
movie , I thought that would have been the apex of his Ritalin-fueled
career... Read Full Story
It is official. According to The Hollywood Reporter , Brett Ratner is definitely going to direct the next big screen version of Conan . While he preps for that film, he will also continue to push forward on a forth installment of the hugely popular Eddie Murphy franchise Beverly Hills Cop .
Beverly Hills Cop IV is nearing a set start date at Paramount, where Ratner has recently set up shop. It looks like that film will more than likely head into actual production before Conan gets a... Read Full Story
