Quick-Step Cycling Team has announced that the team reached an agreement with Brian Holm for him to be with the team for the next 2 seasons.
The Danish Holm (48), one of the most experienced Sports Directors in cycling, raced as professional from 1986 to 1998 working primarily as a domestique. As pro he won 14 races, including the National Championship and Paris-Brussels. Holm began his career as a Sport Director in 1999 and in the past few years he was part of the management of HTC-Highroad.
“I’ve known Brian for a long time,” Team Manager Patrick Lefevere says. “He always did a good job with all the teams he worked for. He is the type of person who is capable of motivating a group. Thanks to his knowledge he can contribute to the team’s improvement in the future.”
“I lived in Belgium for 13 years,” Holm says. “Belgium is like a second home for me. I know Patrick Lefevere very well and I was very impressed when we talked about the projects he has for the team. I have to say thanks for the trust he placed in me. I’m very proud to join the team and I’ll do my best to help the team reach the best possible results.”
