World champion Sloan heading to Pacific Rim
World all-around champion Bridget Sloan and silver medalist Rebecca Bross will lead a strong American team at the Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships in Melbourne this month, organisers said Monday.
Sloan became the fifth American woman to win the world all-around title, defeating team mate Bross by only 0.050 points in London last October.
The USA men?s team features Danell Leyra, who finished fourth in the high bar at last year?s worlds, to set up a showdown with Australia's world high bar champion Phil Rizzo.
The Pacific Rim Championships from April 29 to May 2, feature gymnastics from USA, China, Russia, Canada, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Mexico, Hong Kong, South Korea and Australia.
