Bristol Palin's (and, by extension,
Sarah Palin's) media push back continued apace, with news that Palin will be on the cover of this week's issue of
People magazine.
This comes after two disastrous months for the Palins, PR-wise.
The Palin family and
Levi Johnston's clan got into a very public, very nasty dispute as the two teenage parents' relationship fell apart
, with Palin's spokesperson at one point all but calling Levi Johnston and his family white trash.
"If girls realized the consequences of sex, nobody would be having sex. Trust me. Nobody.

At the same time, Sarah Palin awkwardly
backed out of an invite to the White House Correspondent's Dinner rescinded as stories surfaced
painting the Alaskan governor's power as on the wane.
And, of course, Bristol Palin herself gave an interview in February in which she acknowledged that expecting teenagers to remain
abstinent is "not realistic at all," angering some in the socially conservative wing of the Republican party that heavily supported Sarah Palin.
So Bristol Palin is now making the rounds, saying that no, no, abstinence is the only way to go about it. She became the spokesperson for the Candie's foundation prevention of teen pregnancy. And now she's on the
cover of People, telling readers:
If girls realized the consequences of sex, nobody would be having sex. Trust me. Nobody. She goes on to tell
People, "Girls need to imagine and picture their life with a screaming newborn baby and then think before they have sex. Think about the consequences." She describes her life of typing school papers while her newborn cries in the background, or pumping breast milk before heading off to classes.
We'll see if these PR pushes help get Sarah Palin's presidential ambitions back on track. Considering how positive the story in
People is, we can't imagine it'll hurt.
