New Britney Spears - Something More

New Britney Spears song?! This may be it folks, not even a year after Blackout released to some critical acclaim, and to even less commercial acclaim, it seems we may have a new Brit song in our hands .

You may have noticed that very little is known of this recently surfaced track, other than that no one has heard it before. I am a bit skeptical however — the demo itself sounds post-In The Zone, and possibly pre-”My Prerogative” and “Do Something”. This could have been one of the demos that was recorded while Original Dolls favorites “Mona Lisa” and “Chaotic” were recorded.

Or, the alternative version of the truth. I have some reliable sources (friend of a friend of a friend) that tell me that Britney has been seen recording around LA. So, in fact, this could be a new song! Oh the possibilities!

In all, 2 different versions of the song “leaked”. One is a clip and of mid-to-high quality, the other is the song in its entirety, but in a low quality. Take a listen for yourself.

I really can’t see Britney releasing a song like this in late-2008/2009. But one thing is apparent. Who ever leaked it made sure it was underwraps all these years, or it was actually recorded after Blackout. Ah, so many questions…

“Baby Boy” and “Mona Lisa” are definitely great. I like Blackout as much as the next Britney fan, but really… the sex-kitten act as to end soon. “Mona Lisa” is an exceptionally great song. A little Timbo/Danja or even N.E.R.D. work and it could be amazing.
