"The main thing is that me and my family are okay, and everything's good there," Aldean told CMT Insider.
"I know everybody's kinda going to have their opinion, and for the people that know me and know what I'm about ... the people that are standing by us and supporting us, all I've got to say to them is thanks," he said.
"I really appreciate it, and it's just been a really unfortunate thing. Really embarrassing, I think, more than anything," he added.
TMZ initially reported about the pictures, which show Aldean and Kerr at a bar on the Sunset Strip last week. They're talking very close, and even appear to kiss at one point. Aldean left the bar eventually, without Kerr.
After TMZ's report surfaced, the country singer addressed the issue quickly, apologizing to fans and his family. However, it's worth noting that he did not say he cheated. He just said he "screwed up" and "acted inappropriately."
The post read on his Facebook page: "Hey Guys—I wanted to talk to you directly, so you were hearing the truth from me and not just reading allegations made about my personal life on gossip web sites."
"The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar. I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that's the end of the story. I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself. I'm not perfect, and I'm sorry for disappointing you guys. I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support."
