Brittney Griner

The season is only a month old, and Nimitz product Brittney Griner is showing she's already one of the best women's basketball players in the country.  

Kelsey Griffin (Nebraska) and Brittney Griner (Baylor) were named Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Players of the Week by a media voting panel for games from Dec. 14-20. Griffin (player) earned her sixth career award while Griner (freshman) was recognized for the third time this season.  

Brittney Griner had a record-setting night all around. The Baylor star had the first triple-double in school history and set a Big 12 record with 11 blocks in the sixth-ranked Bears' 101-76 win over Oral Roberts Wednesday night.
