Back in February of last year , over the course of about ten days, I took a look back at the Kansas City Chiefs drafts from 2000 to 2005. I only went to 2005 because I wanted to be fair and stick with that maxim, you can only begin to judge a draft class three years after the fact. And since we're now three years from the 2006 NFL draft and still in that draft mode (Sort of), let's take a look at it, shall we? Remember, we're doing this exercise with hindsight in mind. We're not trying to give out grades based on ... Read Full Story

Usually there are a number of surprising results in Week 1 which creates false favorites and underdogs in Week 2 of the NFL season. Well, not so much this year. Actually, only two upsets straight up and the more astute among us (modesty forbids me) were on the money ` at least against the spread ` with the Jets and 49ers. And those two look capable of more such efforts in the future. Lots of close matchups this week, if you believe Vegas. Wish I had better news, but it’s a long season. Press on regardless. Back to the conventional full schedule of Sunday ... Read Full Story

Neither player has been with the team for more than two games so the practice time with Matt Cassel hasn't been there.  That doesn't necessarily matter to head coach Todd...

Kansas City Chiefs coach Todd Haley admitted he wasn't sure whether Chiefs starting quarterback Matt Cassel would be able to make the start against the Oakland Raiders in week two. Cassel, who injured his knee prior to the first game of the season, has yet to make a start for the Chiefs.  Haley indicated that more would be known about the ex-Patriot later in the week. You'd think the "Wildcat" formation would be a perfect fit for a mobile quarterback like Tyler Thigpen. At least that was the thinking of the Miami Dolphins' brain trust when they worked a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs for Thigpen back in September for an undisclosed 2010 draft pick.
