Back in February of last year , over the course of about ten days, I took a look back at the Kansas City Chiefs drafts from 2000 to 2005. I only went to 2005 because I wanted to be fair and stick with that maxim, you can only begin to judge a draft class three years after the fact.
And since we're now three years from the 2006 NFL draft and still in that draft mode (Sort of), let's take a look at it, shall we?

Well, not so much this year. Actually, only two upsets straight up and the more astute among us (modesty forbids me) were on the money ` at least against the spread ` with the Jets and 49ers. And those two look capable of more such efforts in the future.

Throughout training camp, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Brodie Croyle has consistently outplayed his competition Tyler Thigpen according to multiple practice reports. The sentiment of many around here was that if Cassel went down, Croyle would be the pick to replace him.

Today’s KC Star reports that QB Brodie Croyle, who may be on the hot seat as it is for their roster spot, may not be ready for training camp. Here’s the report from today’s paper:
Croyle didn’t participate in a recent veteran minicamp. His season ended last October with a knee injury and surgery.
