Saints Sign Brodrick Bunkley

By Eric Drouant on  From saintsticketshotspot.com
Saints Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is building a line, beginning with Brodrick Bunkley. The New Orleans Saints, besieged on all sides, are getting on with the program, signing former Broncos defensive lineman Brodrick Bunkley to a five-year deal. I’m happy to see this as it means that no matter what else is going on, someone is intent on addressing the team’s defensive needs. The Saints had a hard time stopping the run when it counted last season and with both Shaun Rogers (a bust...Read Full Story

Saints sign Brodrick Bunkley to five-year deal

By Robert D. Cobb on  From profootballzone.com
The New Orleans Saints signed defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley on Wednesday to a five-year, $25 million deal with $9 million guaranteed.  The Denver Broncos were hoping to re-sign him, but it looks like the Saints offer was too good to pass up. Bunkley recorded a total of 43 tackles in 2011.  He’s more of a run stuffer then a pass rusher and is viewed more as a two-down player. Follow PFZ on Twitter @ProFootballZoneRead Full Story

By SportsPageNetwork on  From 2minutestomidnightgreen.com
Losing Bunkley would be a huge blow to the defense.Early in the Eagles' Week 5 game against the San Francisco 49ers, defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley was forced to leave the game and head to the locker room. He had been hit by a teammate while both were trying to make a tackle, and his elbow bent sideways and backward in a rather unnatural fashion. Now, according to head coach Andy Reid, Bunkley will be forced to have surgery and will likely miss the rest of the season. Reid, as always, was...Read Full Story

By SportsPageNetwork on  From 2minutestomidnightgreen.com
Bunkley might be good to go for the season after all.Contrary to initial reports, Eagles' defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley might not have to miss the entire season. In fact, according to head coach Andy Reid, Bunkley might not even need surgery and could play as soon as this Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.Bunkley apparently met with Dr. James Andrews (the guy who seemingly does every surgery for any athlete regardless of sport) for a second opinion. I'm not quite sure why he wouldn't be...Read Full Story

Brodrick Bunkley Will Start For the Eagles Next Season

By SportsPageNetwork on  From 2minutestomidnightgreen.com
When the 2011 season kicks off, Brodrick Bunkley will be the starting defensive tackle next to Mike Patterson, and Antonio Dixon will be on the bench. And the reason is simple: Bunkley better fits the new scheme. New defensive coordinator Juan Castillo has already made it very clear that defensive line coach Jim Washburn will be able to do whatever he wants with the guys up front. It will be Washburn's scheme, and Castillo, along with Mike Caldwell, Mike Zordich, and Johnnie Lynn will have...Read Full Story

Browns trade next years 5th round pick for Eagles Brodrick Bunkley

By Cartman on  From brownsgab.com
From Profootballtalk.com Just when it looked like the Philadelphia Eagles were doing nothing but spending to bolster their defense for a title run this year, they’ve traded away a member of their defense for a future draft pick. Philadelphia has traded defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley to Cleveland for the Browns’ fifth-round pick in 2012. Bunkley was the Eagles’ first-round draft pick, No. 14 overall, in 2006. Although he showed flashes of the talent the Eagles saw in him coming out of...Read Full Story
