The holiday season has been nothing but festive for the San Diego Chargers in recent years. Same thing, pretty much, for the Philadelphia Eagles. New England, as you might expect, has the decade's best record in December and January regular-season games. Dallas and Oakland wouldn't mind skipping the 12th month altogether.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson tied an NFL record for touchdowns of 50 yards or more in a season when he scored his seventh and eighth of the season in a game against the New York Giants on Sunday night. Well, this isn't a game the Eagles have to win to make the playoffs, but it's a game that could really, really help them. A win basically takes the NYG out of the Wildcard race as they'll be 3 games behind the Eagles considering the tie-breakers (head-to-head). What is this team capable of if they actually play a complete game? Last week they were missing a defense, however they came to play today. This week McNabb decided to make several really, really, really bad decisions and Reid takes a page out of Belichek's playbook (and not the good one). I have watched a lot of other football teams, but I don't think anyone else looks this bad winning this well? I mean, I'm The Happy Apologist and all...

Let's go to the tape:Keys to the Game1) Got to win the turnover battle. - YES2) Avoid stupid penalties. - KINDA3) Big plays by the offense. - YES4) Red zone efficiency. - YES5) Give Eli happy feet early. - NO6) Shut down Jacobs. - NOThoughts on the GameDid anyone else think the officiating was one sided early on? I thought they cost PHI at least 4 points (non-call on Celek in end zone) and probably another 3-7. I was very upset about this...

It would've been easier for the Philadelphia Eagles to overlook San Francisco before the 49ers beat the defending conference champions convincingly on a national stage. A day after the Eagles (9-4) moved into first place in the NFC East with a 45-38 victory over the New York Giants, the 49ers (6-7) dismantled the Arizona Cardinals 24-9 in a prime-time matchup.
