Brooke Bennett found dead
(July 2, 2008) Brooke Bennett, who was last seen alive June 25, 2008, was found dead today by Vermont State Police.
This is the latest chapter in a story that grows more bizzarre as it unfolds. It began when the 12-year-old girl went missing, sparking a search for the pretty young girl with green eyes.
It wasn't long before Bennett's uncle, Michael Jacques, was arrested for an unrelated sexual assault case. The girl's stepfather was then arrested Tuesday, July 1 for sexually assaulting Bennett, but neither of the men have yet been implicated in her disappearance or death.
The latest twist to this sickening story came today when an affidavit showed that the key witness so far in the girl's disappearance is a 14-year-old relative who was helping to initiate her into what appears to be a family-run sex ring.
