Steve Phillips' wife's heart, the ex- ESPN baseball analyst said in a post sex rehab interview with Matt Lauer. Phillips had an affair with his 22-year-old production assistant, and things turned ugly when she revealed their relationship to Steve's wife Marni, and contacted their 16-year-old son over the Internet.

Since the scandal blew open, Steve went through sex rehab at the same Mississippi treatment center that is said to be where golfer
Tiger Woods was receiving help. Phillips said in his first interview post-treatment (via
MSNBC.com): "People look at sex addiction as an excuse; it’s not an excuse. I’m fully responsible for everything that I did and accept responsibility for that.”
Phillips said his family has suffered through the whole ordeal, but he hopes he can save his marriage. “I think of all that my family’s gone through,” Phillips said. “People choose to participate in a relationship, but my wife and kids didn’t. With what my wife and kids have gone through, the trauma that they’ve faced, not only from having a father and a husband that’s a sex addict, but the trauma of the media attention, they’ve been through a lot.”
