Brooks Perlin Pictures, Katie Couric Split Update

Brooks Perlin (Pacific Coast News) Brooks Perlin and Katie Couric have ended their 5-year relationship, reports Us magazine. The couple met at a cancer research benefit in 2006 and Perlin is reportedly in the process of moving out of the news anchor's Upper East Side townhome.

An unnamed source, who likely knows everything about the couple, said: "Brook's a nice guy, but it was inevitable because they had different priorities and perspectives, and their age difference made it a challenge, too."

The insider added: "Katie is someone who is incredibly versatile and accessible and in high demand and he just couldn't keep up. He had a little more trouble in the relationship. So she's available and back on the market."

Couric, who's husband Jay Monahan passed away from colon cancer in 1998, will begin her own talk show in September 2012.

Perlin, 37, competes in triathlons and at some point was starting up a business to market green constructioin materials. He's the son of renowned investor Sanford Perlin.
