OJ Sued For Damages By Robbery Victim, Very Ugly And Bad Man.

A memorabilia dealer who suffered several heart atacks after being robbed at gunpoint by fallen sports star and actor OJ Simpson is suing him for damages.

Lawyers for Bruce Fromong say he suffered “great bodily injury” and emotional distress as a result of the incident in a Las Vegas casino hotel room in 2007.

But Simpson’s lawyer, Yale Galanter, called the lawsuit frivolous and said his client would fight it “tooth and nail”.

Simpson was sentenced to up to 33 years in jail in December 2008 and will serve at least nine years after being convicted of recruiting five other men to help rob Mr Fromong and another sports memorabilia dealer.

He has appealed against his conviction on 12 charges of armed robbery and kidnapping, claiming judicial misconduct, insufficient evidence and lack of racial diversity on the jury.

But a Nevada prosecutor has ruled his sentence was fair.

Simpson, 62, was sentenced nearly 13 years to the day after he was cleared of double murder in America’s “trial of the century”. The 1995 hearing ended with his acquittal on charges of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

Nicole, who had divorced Simpson three years earlier citing “abusive behaviour”, was attacked so savagely she was almost decapitated. Simpson’s acquittal after the racially-charged trial was greeted with widespread outrage across America.

He was subsequently found liable for the deaths in a 1997 civil suit and was ordered to pay damages totalling nearly £23m to the victims’ families.

He has repeatedly said he will not pay up.
