McCabe Thinking Of Moving On

In my opinion, finally the Leafs are thinking of getting rid of their over-rated dead weight defenceman Bryan McCabe. According to GM Fletcher McCabe has softened his stance on his no-movement clause in his contract and is thinking of life outside of the Maple Leafs organization. Although Bryan McCabe has an excellent slapshot, thats about all he has. Whenever I watch a leafs game, I constantly see Bryan McCabe pinching in and helping his forewards way to much and whenever the puck goes the other way McCabe always floats to his goalies help and leaves Kaberle stranded all by himself to worry about 3 forewards.

I personally think that any team who agrees to take Bryan McCabe has to be a team who is really hurting when it comes to scoring goals, because thats all this defenceman can do. He will rush to the blue line and fire a shot almost 100 MPH at the goalie, but when the other team has the puck consider it a 5 on 4 because then he turns into an absolutely useless waste of space on the ice. Also, if that were the only reason to complain about him he would be an asset to a bottom of the standings team, but thats not all. He also takes the dumbest penalties that I have ever seen, and if you review any play that he took a penalty you would see their is no reason at all to do it. I agree in good penalties, like if it is going to save a goal, or if it is sticking up for your captain. But taking a penalty because you are frustrated that your opponent is covering you too well and that you can't seem to score a goal, those are the kind of penalties that coaches hate.

In conclusion, my opinion is for every team in the NHL to avoid this dead weight, and for the leafs to drop him off at a bus stop in St. Catharines, Ontario and tell him to go home. With a total of 1574 Penalty Minutes in 917 regular seasoned games, with only 418 points to boot, that proves that McCabe causes more goals than he scores and he is just an over-rated defenceman who will only hurt any team he signs with.
